Raw mango chutney(Nauratan chutney)

Green Raw mango chutney,also known as kachay aam ki  chutney,is an Indian/pakistani chutney prepared from unripe mangoes. Ripe mangoes are sweet and are not used for chutneys as they are eaten raw. Green unripe mangoes are hard and sour, and they are cooked as chutneys. Mango chutneys are tangy in taste.

Ingredients

Raw mango 1 kg

Sugar 2 and half cup

Water 3 cup

Salt 1 and  half tsp

garlic 2 cloves chopped

red chilli powder 1/2 tsp

kalonji 1/2 tsp

Whole Red chillies 8

Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

3 tbsp vinegar

Raisins 3 tbsp

Chopped Almonds 5

Cooking Directions:

Raw mango 1 kg( big unripe mangoes)Peel them and grate.cut some in cubes.

 

Sugar 2 and half cup

Water 3 cup

Take a pot and add water and sugar.Cook till sugar dissolves.Then add raw mangoes and following ingredients.

Salt 1 and  half tsp

garlic 2 cloves chopped

red chilli powder 1/2 tsp

kalonji 1/2 tsp

Whole Red chillies 8

Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

Cook till raw mangoes become tender.Then add

3 tbsp vinegar

Raisins 3 tbsp

Chopped Almonds 5

and turn off the flame.

Take out in glass jars and keep refrigerated.

    I saw a similar recipe recently, but this looks pretty simple and much more straightforward. I would love to give it a try. I love experimenting with easy recipes.

    Assalamualaikum dear.. looks like I have been here before.. Raw mango chutney.. jatpata.. yum.. I am craving for these and have no luck with raw mangoes here yet. And looking through the ingredients list, I must say this is totally new to me.. we never made this way.. and I am bookmarking this for laters. lovely dear.. I am salivating now thinking of raw mangoes 😛

    I ate something similar in India. It was called choondo – but I never knew how to make it. So thanks. for the recipe. Mangos are my favourite fruit and this looks delicious.
