It is Eid special sweet dish recipe. These khili khili siwayaan also called siwayoon ka Zarda. Just cook them only for two minutes on high flame and leave it covered for 10 minutes. By following this siwayaan will not become soggy and sticky.
Siwayaan / Vermicelli 100 g
Water 1cup
sugar  1 cup
(Ghee) clarified butter 3tbsp

Green cardamom 2
Yellow food colour  1/4 tsp

desicated coconut




To make sugar syrup:

Boil 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar. Add yellow food colour.
Cook on low flame till sugar dissolve.

In a frying pan heat ghee on low flame and fry vermicelli. Then add nuts,dates and cardamom. Fry till golden brown.

Now pour prepared sugar syrup  in frying pan and cover the lid. Cook for 2 minutes on high flame. Then turn off the flame.

Leave it covered for 10 minutes.


Open the lid after 10 minutes and take out vermicelli in a serving dish. Decorate with Desicated coconut and nuts.

    i used to always mess this up with wrong quantities…this was just perfect though I used half cup sugar since we have granulated sugar

      I am also not perfect …..It requires more practice.I also use granulated sugar . I used to cook with these axact measurements…My Aunty told me that after adding sugar syrup only cook for 1 minute and you should not open the lid for at least 15 minutes…
