Moong and masoor daal


Moong daal 1 /2 cup

Masoor daal 1 cup

Salt 1 tsp

Red chilli powder 1 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Garlic paste 1 tbsp

Water 3 cups

For tempering::

Butter or oil 1/4 cup

Onion sliced 1

Garlic chopped 1 tsp

Cumin seed 1 tsp

Green chilli 2

Cloves 2


Take a pot and add washed moong and masoor daal. Now add 3 cups of water, garlic paste, salt, red chilli and turmeric. 

Boil on low flame till done…

For tempering::

Heat 1/4 cup Butter or oil in a small frying pan.

Fry one sliced Onion till golden brown.

Add 1 tsp chopped Garlic and fry till golden. Now add 1 tsp Cumin seed, 2 Green chilli and 2 cloves. Pour this Tara all over the cooked daal.

Serve with boiled rice. Enjoy yummy daal chawal with pickle.
