Vegetable and beef pulao

vegetable and beef pulao (for 6 -8 persons)
For rice
Good quality Seela rice or Basmati rice 4 cup (washed and soaked)

Beef bone less 500 gm
Water 2 cups
Cook on low flame for 2 hours till meat is tender.

For masala

Boiled Boneless beef 500 gm

Yogurt 1 cup(beaten)
Ginger paste 2 tbsp

Garlic paste 2 tbsp
Red chili powder 3 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Salt 3 tsp
cumin powder 1tsp
Clarified butter or oil 5 tbsp
Medium size Onions 4 (sliced)

Cinnamon sticks 3

Green cardamom 6
Cloves 5-6
Black pepper 9
cumin 1 tsp

bay leaf 1

black cardamom 2

Medium size tomatoes 4-5 (chopped)

Potatoes 3

Carrot 4 sliced

Boiled eggs 4 cut in half

Cooking Directions
Heat oil in a pot.
Add sliced onion, fry till they are lightly brown.

Then add whole (spices)garam masala .
Add boiled beef ,ginger garlic paste. and fry well .now add yogurt ,salt ,turmeric,red chilli powder,cumin powder ,tomatoes,carrot,green chillies,potatoes ……fry nicely on high flame till the oil starts to float ..

Now add soaked rice with water….water level should cover the rice as in picture…

When all water dries out,,then stir well..
Now mix 1 tbsp water,kewra essence and yellow food colour ,pour on top all over the rice.

Spread a thick cloth over the mouth of the pan and cover it with a tight lid.

Heat a griddle pan and place the pot over it.
Steam the pulao over very low heat for 15 minutes.
Take out in a dish and decorate with boiled eggs…serve hot…
