Mix daal Recipe
I have added three lentils in this Mix daal recipe. Which are moong daal, Masoor daal and chana daal. All these have their own health benefits.
Moong dal is low in fat content and very high on protein. In fact, moong dal is considered to be one of the best plant-based sources of protein.
Masoor dal is known to be the supreme ingredient for most weight loss diets. … Its high fibre content slows down the digestion process, adding to its effect on weight loss. One cup of masoor dal as a meal is sufficient to provide you with all the essential vitamins, proteins and other nutrients.
Chana daal is a rich source of vitamins, minerals and fiber, it offer a variety of health benefits, such as improving digestion, aiding weight management and reducing the risk of several diseases. Additionally, it is high in protein and make an excellent replacement for meat in vegetarian and vegan diets.
Ingredients for Mix daal::
Moong daal 1 /2 cup
Split red lentil/ Masoor daal 1 cup
Chana daal 1/2 cup
Salt 1 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Water 3 cups
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
Butter or oil 1/4 cup
Onion sliced 1
Garlic chopped 1 tsp
Cumin seed 1 tsp
Green chilli 2
Whole Red chillies 3
Curry leaves 10
Take a pot, add washed moong, masoor and chana daal. Now add salt red chilli and turmeric with 3 cups of water.
Boil on low flame till tender…Mix well ..
Then add 1 tsp roasted cumin powder and 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
Take a small frying pan.
Heat Butter or oil 1/4 cup and fry one sliced Onion till golden brown. Now
add 1 tsp chopped Garlic and fry till golden. Then add
Cumin seed 1 tsp, Green chilli 2,Cloves 2, 3 whole Red chillies and 10 Curry leaves. Stir well and turn off the flame. Pour this Tarka all over the cooked daal.
Serve with boiled rice or Naan.
