Masala rice

Masala rice (for 6 persons)
Good quality Seela rice or Basmati rice 4 cup (washed and soaked)
Garlic 1 tbsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Salt 2 tsp
oil or ghee  5 tbsp
2 Medium size Onion chopped

Cinnamon sticks 3

Cloves 5-6
cumin 1 tsp

black cardamom 2
Yogurt 1/2 cup

Medium size tomatoes 3 (chopped)

Coriander leaves
Mint leaves
Green chillies 4
Cooking Directions
Heat oil in a pot.
Add onion and garlic , fry till they are lightly brown.

Then add whole (spices)garam masala .
Now add salt ,red chilli powder ,tomatoes,green chillies,coriander ,yogurt and mint leaves…..fry nicely on high flame till the oil starts to float ..


Now add soaked rice with water….water level should cover the rice as in picture…

When all water dries out,,then sprinkle 1 tsp garam masala powder and 1 tsp cumin powder and stir well..

cover it with a tight lid.
Heat a griddle pan and place the pot over it.
Steam the rice over very low heat for 15 minutes.
Serve hot.
