Today I am posting a Guest post winner recipe for Ramadan meals which has been sent by my sweet blog reader Saima Shaheen…..It is churros recipe….
One cup water
Half cup butter
1/4 tsp salt
One cup flour
Oil for deep frying
1/4 cup icing sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon optional
CHOCOLATE for DUNKING
1 tbsp corn starch
2 cups milk
4 ounce chocolate
1/4 cup sugar
To Make Churros Dough
Combine one cup of water with butter and salt in saucepan bring to boil over high heat using wooden spoon stir in flour
Reduce heat to low and stir vigorously until mixture forms a ball.Remove the dough from heat while stirring constantly gradually beat the eggs in to the dough.
Heat oil in a pan for deep frying
Mix sugar in cinnamon on a plate and reserve for rolling.
Spoon the churros dough into a pastry bag fitted with a large tip of star shaped. Squeeze a 4 inch strip of dough into the hot oil. Fry the churros until golden brown.
When the churros are just cool enough to handle roll them in cinnamon sugar. Serve with chocolate dip.
To Make Chocolate For Dunking
In bowl dissolve cornstarch in one cup of milk and reserve. Combine chocolate with the remaining cup of milk in a saucepan stirring constantly melt the chocolate over medium low heat .whisk the sugar and the dissolved corn starch into the melted chocolate mixture.Reduce heat to low and cook whisking constantly until chocolate is thickened about 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat and whisk until smooth then reserve in a warm place.
