Chana Mirch pulao

List 1,
Rice 2 cups

chickpeas boiled 1 cup

yogurt 250 gm

Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp

oil or ghee 1/2 cup

onion 1 medium

cumin seeds 1 tbsp

green chilies 3-4

salt 1 and 1/2 tsp 

List 2,
Kashmiri dry red chilies 5-6

big cardamom 4-5

small cardamom 4-5

cloves 1/2 tsp

cinnamon stick 2

bay leaf 2


1. Heat oil in a pan,add kashmiri red chilies , stir for 5-10 seconds,……now add all list 2 spices, stir for 10-15 seconds but do not burn them,keep the heat on medium……now add finely sliced onion,fry till golden brown them because we need our rice colour  like pulao at end…now add 1 tbsp cumin ,ginger garlic paste and green chilies cut in half, stir for 10 seconds.
2. Now add boiled chickpeas, stir for 30 seconds,then add beaten yogurt and stir….now add almost 3 cups water and let it boil…add 1 hour soaked rice in it with salt ,cook on high heat until all water evaporates. (For every 1 cup of rice we add 1-1/2 cup of water in cooking).

3. When all water evaporates, with tight lid on very low heat cook it for 10 minutes.

Channa mirch pulao is ready.

serve it with raita and chatpata fresh salad…for salad cut 1 onion and 1 tomato,add salt ,red chili,lemon juice as required…
