Bihari Chicken Masala


Chicken 1 kg

 2 medium sized onions cut in slices

Ginger Garlic paste 1 tbsp

Oil 5 tablespoons 

Yogurt 1 cup

whole red chilli 11

Roasted chickpeas(bhunay Hoya chanay)or gram flour 1 tbsp

cumin seeds 1 tbsp

Black pepper 8

Cloves 5

Green cardamom 2

Cinnamon 1 inch stick

salt 1 tsp
Coriander seeds 2 tbsp
turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

Dry roast cumin seeds,coriander seeds,chick peas,red chillies ,black pepper ,cloves,cinnamon,green cardamom on low heat till fragrant.

Now grind them in coffee grinder to make Masala powder.

 Heat oil in a pan.fry onion till golden brown.
 take them out from oil.blend them with yogurt .

In the same pot Fry chicken and add blended mixture,also add all the remaining ingredients and dry Masala powder.Now cover the lid and cook on low flame for 20 minutes .

then fry well till all water comes from chicken and yogurt , dries out.Serve with chapati,naan or paratha.
