Achari Chicken
Chicken 750 gms(cut into pieces)

oil 4 tbsp

Onion 1 (sliced)

Ginger paste 2 tbsp

Garlic paste 2 tbsp

Red chili powder 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Coriander powder roasted 1  tsp
Salt 1 teaspoon



Ripe tomatoes 3

Cooking Directions

Heat oil in a pot.

Add sliced onion, fry till they are lightly brown.take it out from oil.Then

Add in ginger paste and garlic paste, fry  till it releases aroma.

Then add chicken, fry nicely till the oil starts to float.
Grind fried onion  and tomatoes..
Now mix well grinded mixture in chicken.
Mix in salt,coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric and fry well.


Add 1 cup of hot water and Simmer on low flame till chicken is tender and the oil starts to float.

Now temper it or give a tarka :::

Ingredients for tempering/tarka..

Oil 2tbsp

Curry leaves 20

Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

Fennel seeds/saunf 1/2 teaspoon

Green chillies 4

Fenugreek seeds/methi dana  1/4 teaspoon

Nigella seeds/kalonji 1/4 teaspoon

Mustard seeds/Rai 1/4 teaspoon


Heat oil in a frying pan.sizzle all the tarka ingredients .


Pour tarka on cooked chicken and Serve with chapati..
