Beef Bong Tahiri (for 6 -8 persons)
This Eid ul Adha special recipe of beef tahiri is delicious because of rich beef bong flavours.Bong or Shank meat is deliciously tender and tempting.You can make this tahiri with other cuts of beef meat..But the slow cooked bong meat goes well for it.

Good quality Seela rice or Basmati rice 4 cup (washed and soaked)
Beef bong 500 gm
Yogurt 1/2 cup(beaten)
Ginger paste 2 tbsp
Garlic paste 2 tbsp
Red chili powder 2 tsp
Turmeric powder 2 tsp
Salt 3 tsp
cumin powder 1 tsp
Clarified butter or oil 5 tbsp
Medium size Onions 4 (sliced)
Cinnamon sticks 3
Green cardamom 6
Black pepper 9
cumin 1 tsp
bay leaf 1
black cardamom 2
Medium size tomatoes 4-5 (chopped)
Heat oil in a pot.
Add sliced onion, fry till they are lightly brown.
Then add whole (spices)garam masala .
Add beef ,ginger garlic paste. and fry well .now add yogurt ,salt ,turmeric,red chilli powder,cumin powder ,tomatoes,……fry nicely on high flame till the oil starts to float ..add 2 cups of water and cook on low flame for one hour till the meat is tender.Slow cooked tender shank meat adds the flavours.
Now add soaked rice with water….water level should be above one inches after covering the rice ..
Cook on high flame till all water dries out,,then stir well..
Spread a thick cloth over the mouth of the pan and cover it with a tight lid.
Heat a griddle pan and place the pot over it.
Steam the tahiri over very low heat for 15 minutes.
Take out in a dish …serve hot…
