Chocolate bread baked on stovetop

This chocolate bread recipe is quick and easy to make. This recipe is good for breakfast or for kids lunchbox. It has been made on stovetop in big pateela/pot.

You cake also make it in the oven.Baking time and result will be same.

Chocolate bread baked on stovetop

Serves 12 persons


Flour 1 cup sifted

Grinded Sugar 1 cup

Cocopowder 1/4 cup sifted

Baking powder 3/4 tsp

Baking soda 3/4 tsp

Vegetable Oil or melted butter or olive oil 1/4 cup

Egg 1

Milk 1 /2 cup

Vanilla essence 1 tsp

1/2 cup boiling water..


Preheat a big pot on high flame for 15 minutes.


Preheat oven to 180°c….
Line up loaf pan with parchment paper. Now grease loaf cake pan  with oil and dust flour.
Sift together dry ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
Take a bowl and add egg , oil ,grinded sugar ,vanilla essence and milk;beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Now add dry mixture. Mix well . Then pour hot boiling water..Mix well (Batter will be thin.) Pour into lined, greased and floured loaf pan. Bake for 30 minutes in preheated pot/pateela.

Keep the gas flame on high for 5 minutes. Then bake it on medium high flame for more 25 minutes.

Cool  10 minutes before removing from pan.

Then cool the chocolate bread on wire rack .

For Chocolate Ganache topping,,

Melt 1/2 cup of shredded cooking chocolate on double boiler with half cup whiping cream.Stir well.

Spread  warm chocolate ganache immediately on top of chocolate bread . Sprinkle chocolate chips. Serve with a cup of tea or coffee.
