My mother’s special chat , I saw her making this chat in ,parties,Quran khuanis and eids, although she was making chats with different methods but this was her famous one , she was using roasted crushed cumin seeds.
2 cups white chick peas (wash and addd 1 tsp baking soda,then soak overnight ,then boil in same water till done) discard remaining water..
imli pulp 1/2 cup (to ur taste)
crushed red chill 1 tsp
Roasted crushed cumin 1 tsp
salt 1 tsp
chat masala 1 tsp
sugar 1 tsp
boiled potatoes 1 large (boiled n diced)
onion slices 1
hari mirch,green chillies
tomato 1 chopped
In a bowl mix all ingredients ,mix half hara masala also. Mix well,i will recommend u to make it 1 hrs prior potato n chanas will absorb masala .
Green chili 1 large
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
Onion 1 small
Baking Soda 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1 tsp or to taste
Gram flour 1 cup (sifted)
Yogurt 1/2 kg
Salt to taste
Black Salt 1/4 tsp
Take a bowl Add salt , baking soda,cumin,green chillies,onion and red chili powder too.
Mix in sifted gram flour and make a thick paste.
Leave this for 15 minutes
Prepare yogurt by adding salt and black salt in it. Mix well. (you can use nestle raita also)
Heat oil and drop 1 tbsp gram flour mixture in hot oil. Fry till brown.
Pour yogurt on dumplings and then both Chutneys.
Sprinkle chaat masala.
