Quick one pot Chicken Masala Rice
It is a quick Desi rice recipe.You can make it when you have a short time to serve Desi dinner. These Masala rice have less ingredients and preparation than Biryani and pulao rice so it is quick and easy to make. Kids can eat because it is less spicy. Frying of chicken with brown onions and with all the masala will remove the smell of chicken and it will absorb the flavours.
Quick one pot Chicken Masala Rice Ingredients:
Rice 4 cups (soaked)
Chicken 1 kg
Yogurt 1 cup(beaten)
Ginger paste 2 tbsp
Garlic paste 2 tbsp
Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Salt 3 tsp
Whole red chillies 5
Whole green chillies 5
oil 1/2 cup
Medium size Onions 4 (sliced)
Cinnamon sticks 3
Green cardamom 3
Cloves 4
Black pepper 6
cumin 1 tsp
bay leaf 2
black cardamom 1
Potatoes 4 cut in cubes
Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
Cooking Directions:
Heat oil in a pot.
Add sliced onion, fry till they are lightly brown.
Then add cumin and whole (spices)garam masala .
Now
Add chicken and ginger garlic paste. Fry well . Now add yogurt ,salt ,turmeric,red chilli ; whole red chillies,green chillies and potatoes ……Fry nicely on high flame till the oil starts to float ..
Now add rice and fry well.….Now add water. Water level should cover the rice above one inch as in picture…
When all water dries out,,then add garam masala powder/all spice powder and stir well. Cover the lid.
Heat a griddle pan and place the pot over it.
Steam the Rice over very low heat for 15 minutes.
Take out in a dish and serve hot…
